RUSD is fortunate to have three mental health professionals, all holding doctorate degrees, on its School Psychology staff. These psychologists are crucial to both the social emotional health and academic success of our students. In our increasingly complex world, we are seeing greater numbers of students with anxiety and stress associated with social, athletic, and academic achievement.
Students and parents need tools to manage all of these competing demands, and school psychologists provide an opportunity to talk and share ideas from years of experience. It is clear that a mentally healthy student is much more able to devote his or her time to learning. Our school psychologists are dedicated to intervening as early as possible by helping students develop strategies to deal with life’s challenges and build resilience.
